Northern European Cup Formula Renault 2.0 (NEC) ready for 2014

World Champions like Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen learned to race in these fast formula cars. The youngest success ‘raised’ in the NEC is Vallteri Bottas, the 2008 Champion. In 2013 he made his debut in F1 for the Williams team.

The 2014 season is ready for take off. At the moment 25 cars are already entered for the upcoming season. Organised by MdH in close cooperation with Renault Sport Germany, Cara de Vlaming is the coordinator of the FR 2.0 NEC series.

The seven race-weekends are divided among the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic and Germany in order to offer young talents the chance to gain experience at well-known GP racetracks such as Hockenheim, Nürburgring, Monza and Spa-Francorchamps. Four of the seven races will take place during the best-supported and most competitive GT Series in the world: The BlancPain Endurance series.

The season kicks off in the weekend of 12/13 April at the high speed GP track in Monza (I). We move on to another GP track on the 24 and 25th of May; Silverstone (UK). The competition continues on the weekend of 25 and 26 July on again a GP track: Spa-Francorchamps as support race during the historical 24 Hours event.

The first weekend of August the MotoGP TT Circuit Assen is on the agenda: the Gamma Racing Day. With 78000 visitors last year, an event to be proud of. Together with NEC Junior and the all-new Clio Cup Benelux a real Renault Sport weekend.  The last weekend of August we will race at the beautiful track of Most and we will end the season on the 20th and 21st of September on the challenging GP track at the Nürburgring.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2014 series.
