The British round will be the one and only event without guest drivers from the Formula Renault 2.0 EUROCUP, as the European series drives this same upcoming weekend at Spa – Francorchamps in the programme of the World Series by Renault. Although frontrunners from the last two events at Hockenheim and Nurburgring such as Ocon, Pakari and Pizzitola will not be featuring at Silverstone, there are still close to 30 permanent NEC competitors who will increase their position in the rankings.
Matt Parry has a strong hold on the championship title after the first five races of the Northern European Cup. The drivers that follow (Ocon, Pakari, Rowland and Malja) are all EUROCUP participants. As they do not join the grid in Silverstone, the second best scoring driver is Shahaan Engineer, who has a great opportunity to move forward in the points list this weekend. Norwegian Dennis Olsen is currently the third best qualified NEC driver and might make his way to his first podium at the British Formula One track.
The series starts the weekend with a full programme on Friday the 31st of May. At 9.15 in the morning, the drivers will be able to explore the track during the first free practice. The second practice follows at noon, continuing with the official qualification at 16.00. The first race is scheduled for Saturday first of June at 13.15. The weekend finishes on Sunday the 2nd of June at 10.30.
