Champions to be crowned in Dutch Dunes

09/10/13 - The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup finishes the spectacular 2013 season this weekend in the dunes of Zandvoort, the Netherlands. Matt Parry saw his lead decrease during the last round in Most, but still has a comfortable advantage of 75 points. With 30 points for each win and three races to go, Jack Aitken still has a chance of snatching the title, but needs a small miracle to do so.

The finale weekend counts over 30 participants. The free practice sessions on Friday, two qualifying sessions on Saturday and three races spread over the weekend will give all young talent one last opportunity to work on their racing skills and gain valuable experience for their future racing careers.

The last round welcomes some new entrants to the grid. Brixia Horsepower from Italy and Jenzer Motorsport from Switzerland join the finale with Andrew Tang and Andrea Baiguera. On top, 2010 champion Keo Racing comes to Zandvoort with Josef Zaruba and Fabian Welter. From EUROCUP, the NEC team welcomes MP Manor Motorsport with Oliver Rowland and Josef Kaufmann’s Steijn Schothorst.

The official free practice starts on Friday at 10.35, and finishes with the last practice on 14.35. Qualifying starts on Saturday at 9.30 with the slower group, the fastest group qualifies at 9.50. Race one starts at 14.15 on Saturday afternoon. Race 2 is set for 10.25 on Sunday morning. The third and last race of the season is programmed for 16.55 on Sunday, followed by the end of the year ceremony, awarding the 2013 champions with their prizes
