Barnicoat’s second win of the season and leads the championship

31/08/14 - Straight after the start of race 1 of the Formula Renault 2.0 NEC in Most, it was Ben Barnicoat (Fortec Motorsports) who took the lead from pole sitter Alex Albon (KTR). Behind them Gustav Malja (Josef Kaufmann Racing), Seb Morris (Fortec Motorsports), Louis Deletraz, Kevin Jörg (both Josef Kaufmann Racing) and Steyn Schothorst (MP Manor Motorsport) were fighting for positions.

Julio Moreno (MP Manor Motorsport) started as fourth but was unlucky as he had to retire early due to technical problems. Gustav Malja battled for third place with Seb Morris but also had to retire.

It was drama for Steyn Schothorst (MP Manor Motorsport). The number two in the championship had to retire due to technical problems. This is a setback in the fight for the championship but hopefully race two ,where he starts from 5th, will bring him a better result.

Ben Barnicoat took his second win of the season and thus took over the top spot before Delétraz Louis, who finished fourth. The podium was completed by Alex Albon and Seb Morris.

NOTE: Race two has been postponed due to heavy rain and standing water on the track. Race three will now become race two. Race two starts at 15.25 hrs.
